Happy Turkey Day

We want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. We spent our day with some great friends of ours (Chad and Maggie) We had a good day, good food and good drinks. Christopher did not like turkey too much but he did eat some squash casserole and some green bean casserole but completed his meal with gold fish and teddy grahams. We are home now and ready to relax.

1 year Dr appt.

On Monday Nov 24th we had Christophers 1 year checkup. I was really anxious to see how much he weighed and how tall he was. Here's the STATS...... weight-22lbs 8 oz, 29 1/2 inches long. He is such a growing boy. She was asking me all the things that he did and he got a good bill of health. Then the dreaded came..... SHOTS- he had to get 3 shots and a finger prick. He cried for about 20 min. That is the longest he has ever cried but I was right there with him. It breaks my heart when he is like that and there is nothing I can do to make it better right then and there. After we left the Dr we went to CVS and I let him play with all the Christmas toys that make noise. I love to see the smile on his face when the toys start singing or dancing. We came home after the dr and just took it easy. He enjoyed pushing Dr. Russells chair around the room so I took some pics of him

Firetruck

My brother just started working at a brand new firestation in Saraland so on Sat. Nov 22, we took a field trip to the new firestation. Dad, Leslie, Dalton, Christopher and I headed to check it out. It is super nice with all the bells and whistles you could ask for. We put Christopher if the firetruck and he was so excited banging on the steering wheel and looking around. It will be neat when he gets older and is into firetrucks to go back out and visit. I guess that is a perk to having a brother that is a fireman!!!

pig nose

Christopher played with a medicine cup the whole time we were in Mobile. You know it is the simple things in life that kids love. Sometimes when he puts it in his mouth he looks like a pig. He also got his first taste of Coke. Dalton was over and had a coke and Christopher wanted to taste so we got him a straw and he had his first taste. He got slobber all in the coke and Dalton thought is was sooooooo nasty

TARD

I have recently been reunited with a good friend from college named Leigh, but I have always called her Tard. She lives sort of close to mom and dad so I use to hitch rides home with her. We have not seen or talked to each other in over 10 years. I met her at the bookstore on Thurs. shortly after I met her there her hubby and precious son showed up. We stayed at the bookstore and let the boys play and then we headed to eat japanese. We had a good time and it was like we never went over 10 years without talking.

High School Pals

Christopher started feeling bad on Tues and was all stopped up and congested. I was a little sad b/c I have had plans with a bunch of friends from high school to go out to lunch on Wed with the kids and everything. I was not sure if I would be able to go since he was not feeling well but when we woke up Wed. morning he was better and then Paw Paw said for me to take him down there and he would come get him if I needed him to. That was perfect. I took him to the restaurant so everyone could see him and then he started acting crazy so dad came to get him. I got to stay and visit with old pals and we had a great time. I did miss my little man though and this was the longest period of time I had been away from him since he was 4 months old.

At the park

Aunt Leslie took the day off Monday so we went to eat at A Spot of Tea. There is a park across the street so when we were done with lunch we took Christopher over there to play and crawl around.

Birthday Party at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's

On Sunday Nov. 16th Christopher and I headed to Mobile for a visit and his final birthday party. It was just the family and some family friends that came to celebrate. Aunt Leslie made his cakes and they were so cute and as you can see he enjoyed them too. He got lots of cool new toys, so we are set on toys for a while. My nephew Dalton was there and he wears like a size 15 shoe so we took some pics of his and Christophers foot next to each other to see the difference. We also put Christopher's foot in Daltons shoe. It was pretty funny.

Let the fun begin!!!

Well today was Christopher's Birthday Party. We invited friends and family and cooked hot dogs and hamburgers. I ended up buying his cake b/c I just could not stress about it. I did make some really cute monkey cupcakes for the kids. It was a good day there were about 10 little ones and mommies and daddies and it was pure CRAZINESS for about 2 hours at our house. We did Christopher's birthday cake and he did not dig into it like he did the other night. He did manage to get it ALL over his face again. With this cake he had an alergic reaction to the icing. His face got real red and a little swollen. I felt so sorry for him. We got him cleaned up (Thanks Aunt Monica) and it never really phased him. Most of the people left and we sat around and opened gifts. He got a lot of good new toys to play with most of them make noise (Oh Goodie). After everyone left he conked out. He was so tired he has had a busy busy day today.

Happy Birthday Hadley and Christopher!!

My roommate from college, Alicia, has a little girl named Hadley and she is a few weeks younger than Christopher. Her birthday party in Birmingham is this weekend and we will not be able to go to it. Alicia and I decided we would take the kids to eat mexican and then to the zoo. We got the waiters to sing Happy Birthday to them and they both looked at them like they had 3 heads. It was so funny. We had such a great time. I love spending time with them and I love to watch Hadley and Christopher play with each other. I just wished we lived closer together.

Fun Fun Day

Well we have had the most perfect day today. We woke up this morning and Christopher opened his gifts from us, my friend Cindy and something from my parents. We enjoyed playing with his new toys before we had to get ready to go meet some friends for lunch. I gave Christopher milk today for the first time and he is not real fond of it. He would make this ugly face and then make this funny noise right behind it. We met some friends for lunch and that was nice and then we headed to Painted by U to make some Christmas gifts. We were there for quite a while and then we headed to the bakery to get our Birthday cupcake. Bryan brought dinner home and after we were done eating we tore Christophers clothes off of him and gave him his cupcake. He was a little weary at first as to what to do with it but when he got the hang of it he tore into it and did not turn back.. He had cupcake from head to toe, in his diaper, in his hair, it was EVERYWHERE. We laughed so hard at him, it was so cute to see him get so excited about that cupcake. After he ate his cupcake he had to have a bath and then he played a little more and now he is off to night night. He has had such a busy busy day.
